Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree is preferred in Digital Media Production, Sports Management, Communications, Health and Human Performance, or related field. At least one year of work experience assisting in a collegiate or professional sports information/media relations office is preferred. The candidate must be accepted into the Fort Hays State University Graduate School.

Knowledge and Skills:
-Strong background in digital media production for athletics.
-Content creation with videography, photography, graphic design, motion design.
-Strong background with Adobe Creative Suite products.
-Strong skill set with video/photo editing, graphic design, and creative content.
-Strong experience and knowledge with social media platforms, including Facebook, X, and Instagram.
-Background in athletic website maintenance is a plus. SIDEARM Sports is our website provider.
-Knowledge of graphic template software such as BoxOut, Gipper, and Canva are a plus.
-Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong proofreading skills.
-Strong skills in working one-on-one with student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
General Responsibilities:
The graduate assistant will assist the sports information director, assistant sports information director, and the director of creative content and new media in day-to-day coverage of all 19 intercollegiate athletic programs at FHSU. Main responsibility will be assisting the director of creative content and new media with digital media production for all of Fort Hays State’s athletic programs. Video/photo production and maintenance will be required, as well as development of creative content for Fort Hays State Athletics digital platforms (website and social channels). Some undergraduate student worker supervision may also be required. Travel may be required to specified events.
Specific Responsibilities:
The graduate assistant will be expected to assist in day-to-day office operations and game day operations for all sports as assigned.
Compensation:
Stipend of $6,000.00 (paid in monthly installments over 10 months) and tuition assistance. Position can be extended for a second year based on academic and administrative performance evaluation.
