The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), a premier NCAA Division II athletic conference headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., seeks a dynamic, energetic individual to assist in its media relations office. The start date for this position is flexible but not earlier than January 1, 2025, and requires a commitment until June 2025. An extension for a full 10-month term, beginning August 1, 2025, is available.
The successful candidate will report to the RMAC Associate Commissioner for Strategic Communications and assist in promoting the league and its members. Candidates should be proficient in media relations and video production and able to work independently and in a team setting to efficiently meet established goals and deadlines. Responsibilities will be tailored to fit the candidate's expertise and may include, but are not limited to:
Serve as the primary or secondary media contact for the RMAC’s 21 league-sponsored sports.
Write, edit, and publish weekly press releases and other sports updates.
Assist in managing and producing digital content for the RMAC’s social media platforms.
Producing and updating league information (e.g. RMAC record books and archive webpages).
Serve as video content editor for conference-related events and championships.
Assist in content creation for the RMAC Network.
Produce weekly highlight packages and other video content throughout the academic year, including possible on-air and broadcast opportunities for RMAC Network content and RMAC Championships.
Serve as an on-site media relations coordinator and/or videographer at selected conference championships and other RMAC events.
Maintain and update the conference’s website (RMACSPORTS.org).

Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. They should be considering a career in media relations or multimedia. The applicant must be willing to travel as needed. Applicants should also be self-starting with strong attention to detail.
Experience in desktop publishing (InDesign, Photoshop), video production (Premier Pro), knowledge and prior use of content management systems (CMS)—preferably on a SIDEARM Sports website—and a basic understanding of writing according to Associated Press style guidelines are preferred. Candidates should also have basic knowledge of and be comfortable operating in the world of athletics, sports statistics, and video production.
Candidates must have or are completing work toward a bachelor's or master’s degree in communications, multimedia, public relations, sports management, or a related field. Previous experience in a collegiate or professional media relations and/or video production environment is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
The RMAC is a premier NCAA Division II conference located in Colorado Springs, Colo., with 15 member institutions. The RMAC sponsors 22 varsity NCAA sports and has produced 67 NCAA Division II national champions and 54 national runners-up since 1992.
