The Graduate assistant for Athletic Communications will assist the Coordinator of Sports Information and the Coordinator of Media Relations/Marketing with publicity efforts for the University’s 14-sport athletic program. The selected candidate will be the primary communications contact for several team sports, and other sport coverage as assigned. Primary responsibilities will include: updating and managing the college's athletic website (gostatesmen.com); writing game and event recaps; assisting in design of athletic graphics and social media efforts; compiling team statistics and records; compiling in-game statistics; reporting results to local, regional, and hometown media; monitoring and providing social media content and assisting with game operations. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, energetic, work well on tight deadlines and possess the ability to manage several projects at once. Ability to work weekends as well as nights is required, along with occasional travel. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Our graduate assistant positions are employment contracts valued at regular FT tuition and fees plus an additional allotment of $500 per semester. It is taxed as income and then applied to the student’s account to cover any balance due with refunds (if applicable) issued once per semester. We do provide cafeteria meal plans (75 meals per semester) and parking decals as well.
