The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, a highly competitive NCAA DIII conference, is seeking an Assistant Executive Director. The Conference maintains an office in Naperville, IL, but flexible work arrangements may be possible, provided the individual lives within the footprint of the member institutions.

The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with outstanding communication skills, organizational skills and be creative and innovative. This position requires the individual to work some nights and weekends and to travel to various campuses for meetings and competition.

Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

Media Relations and Marketing

• Manage all aspects of sports information for the conference.
• Manage the conference website insuring current information at all times.
• Develop unique and interesting content for the conference website and the conference’s social media accounts.
• Livestreaming of championship events.
• Build relationships with local media to better promote the conference.
• Develop graphics for use in promoting conference events.
• Submit award nominations to the NCAA and various coaching groups.
• Maintain conference records and statistics.
• Assist with identifying corporate partners and promoting their brand.

Championships/Awards

• Provide support to host institutions in the planning of conference championships.
• Attend conference championships and provide game management support and present awards.
• Manage the conference awards program, including administration of the selection process, design, order, and distribution.

Conference Administration

• Attend all regular meetings of the Presidents, Athletic Administrators, and Coaches.
• Assist the Executive Director in preparing meeting materials and recording minutes.
• Serves as the conference Student- Advisory Committee Administrator and responsible for all meetings and programs with the group.
• Assist the Executive Director in development of athletics schedules.
• Serve as conference liaison for assigned sports and lead coaching groups and championships in those sports.
• Supervise interns when applicable.

Salary and Compensation

• This is a 12-month position.
• Salary commensurate with experience with a competitive benefits package.
• The conference offers a flexible work schedule but a successful candidate will be required to work in the Naperville, IL office on occasion.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with many constituents, often in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to manage a high degree of confidentiality.
• A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Proficient in website maintenance, preferably with the Sidearm platform.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop and video editing programs.
• Experience with creating innovative digital content.
• Prior event management experience.
• Ability to work nights and weekends and travel which may include overnight travel.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate Degree.
• Experience in a conference office or campus setting.
• Experience with marketing, promotions or community relations.
• Knowledge of NCAA Division III and its rules and procedures.
• Experience with Student-Athlete Advisory Committees.
