The King's College sports information department is in search of two (2) interns for the 2022-23 academic year. The interns will report to the Director of Sports Information to help support King's College athletics, its 29 varsity programs, and its student-athletes through creative video/digital content, media relations, press releases, media guides, kingscollegeahtletics.com, and any other available print and electronic media. This position requires flexibility to work late nights and weekends and some holidays, as well as the ability to travel with teams to away sporting events. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of reappointment.

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS: 

1. Coordinate with the Sports Information Director to develop a marketing plan for our 29 NCAA Division III varsity programs that enhance promotion and recruitment of prospective student athletes.
2. Coordinate with the Sports Information Director to develop a comprehensive program of sports coverage which highlights both competitive and non-competitive activities of student athletes and teams.
3. Develops relationships with members of the print and electronic media outlets to provide stories and information regarding King’s Athletics.
4. Maintain statistical data, records, and history on current and former student athletes and teams.
5. Publish written releases as it relates to post-game recaps, accomplishments and highlights, and non-competitive activities.
6. Assist in managing a student worker staff of approximately 15 work study students a semester in both office hours and game day tasks and duties as assigned.
7. Direct and supervise student workers and game staff for various home athletic contests and events as it relates to live statistics, web-streaming activities, and game management.
8. Designs and produces home athletic media guides, game programs, and related printed materials.
9. Serves as a liaison between King’s College, the MAC, UCHC, and NCAA.
10. Assists in the development and maintenance of the athletics pages on the King’s College website.
11. Provides player and statistical information to opponents for program and publicity purposes.
12. Ability to work weekends as well as nights is required as assigned.
13. Ability to travel independently to the college athletics fields when necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Strong interpersonal skills.
3. Valid driver’s licensee
4. Knowledge of NCAA statistics, policies, and rules.
5. Excellent writing and editing skills with an attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience in athletic website management.
2. Experience working in a sports information/athletic communications/media relations office at an NCAA college or university.
3. Strong background with Adobe Creative Suite software or other design software.
4. Proficient skill in web and graphic design.
5. Webcasting experience.
6. Strong working knowledge of NCAA LiveStats and Stat Crew and/or Presto stats.
7. Experience with NCAA football and/or ice hockey.
