The successful candidate will join a top-tier NCAA Division II athletics department, overseeing all aspects of the department’s gameday video streaming initiatives. As a key member of the UIndy Athletics Communication team, the successful candidate will serve as the primary play-by-play announcer for a majority of department’s athletic programs, while also handling in-game producer and director responsibilities and setup/teardown of streaming equipment.

The successful candidate will also conduct on-camera interviews with student-athletes and coaches to supplement pregame and postgame coverage of all of the department’s 23 athletic programs. 

Depending on the individual’s skillset and the athletics schedule, the position may include social media management and content creation (graphic design, photography, video production, etc.) to help elevate the department’s social media presence. Also, the opportunity to learn these skills and others within the Athletics Department will be made available.

The successful candidate must comply with all institution, conference and NCAA guidelines and must be accepted into a graduate program at UIndy.  Evening and weekend hours required, with more flexibility granted during the week.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, broadcasting, journalism, public relations, sport management or a related field.
• Extensive play-by-play experience, preferable across a variety of sports.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish close working relationships with department administrators, coaches and student-athletes.
• Represent the University of Indianapolis with the highest standard.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Blueframe’s Production Truck software.
• Video editing, graphic design and desktop publishing experience via Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Premiere, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Proficiency with social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
• Fresh and creative ideas to enhance UIndy Athletics coverage through in-house channels, as well as through the local media when possible.
