Nova Southeastern University, located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill one position as a Graduate Assistant for Athletics Digital Media & Graphic Design for the 2022-23 academic year. NSU is a member of the Sunshine State Conference and sponsors 16 NCAA Division II intercollegiate programs. The selected applicant will be offered the following compensation package:

2022-23 Graduate Assistant Financial Package

Package
• $10,000 tuition scholarship
• $8,000 annual stipend (paid every two weeks)

NOTE: The annual compensation package for Graduate Assistant positions is NON-NEGOTIABLE.

Qualifications
The preferred applicant should possess an undergraduate degree in communications, graphic design, journalism, public relations, sport management or a related field, and have previous athletic communications experience either as a student-worker or intern. Candidates should also possess a general knowledge of the 16 sports that NSU competes at the NCAA Division II level, along with a digital media background and effective verbal and written communication skills.

In order for the position to be offered, applicants must have received full admission into any one of NSU’s numerous graduate programs.

The position will require weekend and evening hours. A flexible schedule will be arranged based upon class schedule.

Job Requirements 

The position is responsible for assisting the Athletic Communications staff in all departmental functions including:

• He/she will be exposed to various facets across public relations and communications disciplines, providing graphic design and visual support for internal and external communications including building a photo library, developing infographics and designs, video development, social media support and other departmental projects as assigned.
• Demonstrating the ability to produce game day programs and sport posters using Adobe products.
• Must be comfortable in front of and behind camera for items such as news stories or features.
• Assisting with the production of interactive or multimedia projects and web graphics, as well as traditional print graphic design projects. Designs will be created for web, digital and print mediums.
• Under direction of the full-time staff, this position requires skills ranging from using Adobe Creative Suite (PC or Mac), digital photography and videography with attention to detail, quality and accuracy.
• Possesses basic knowledge of interview protocol and techniques within athletics.
• Will assist with live streaming of sporting events using TriCaster/Production Truck.
• Must demonstrate an ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks on a daily basis without supervision.
• Expected to work at least 25-30 hours per week.
