East Texas Baptist University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant or Intern (broadcast/social/select sports contact) beginning in July 2022.  This position is a 12 to 24-month position depending on the degree program or if you choose to just be an intern.  The selected applicant will receive a monthly stipend and 50% tuition waiver for the ETBU graduate program. 

GRADUATE ASSISTANT/INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES

The selected candidate will help with day-to-day office duties, has the possibility to broadcast on the ETBU SportsNet, help set up and tear down live video equipment, plan and create strategies for the social media team accounts, responsible for the majority of the writing for www.GoETBUTigers.com, help with statistics and game day workers. This person will also have duties as the contact person for select sports and travel some. The selected candidate should also know how to work with CMS website maintenance along with knowing how to work in the Adobe Suite including PhotoShop, InDesign, Premiere, and Audition.

This person will learn the tricks of the trade in becoming a true SID. ETBU has sent former graduate assistants and interns onto NCAA Division I, II, and NAIA programs to work in the SID field.

A bachelor’s degree is required and should have a background in journalism, public relations, communications, or related field.  You must have strong written and oral communication skills, an understanding of social media, and strong writing skills.
